Rider Profile

A rider profile is a stored set of patient transportation details — including contact information, emergency contacts, home and facility addresses, and accommodation preferences — used to auto-fill ride requests and eliminate repetitive data entry.

Why it matters in NEMT operations

Rider profiles centralize all transportation-relevant patient data in one place. For NEMT programs managing 100+ active riders, re-entering patient details on every ride request introduces errors and wastes significant scheduling time. Common mistakes include misspelled addresses causing route failures, missing accommodation flags leading to inappropriate vehicles, and outdated emergency contacts creating safety gaps.

With rider profiles, scheduling staff create the patient record once during onboarding — capturing name, phone number, emergency contact, home address, preferred medical facilities, special accommodations (wheelchair, oxygen, etc.), and any driver notes. Every subsequent ride request for that patient auto-fills all fields from the profile, requiring only date and time input. This approach can save 30+ hours per month for programs with high ride volumes.

Rider profiles also support recurring ride automation. When a recurring schedule is created, every generated ride inherits the full profile — addresses, accommodations, and notes — without any manual intervention.

Example in practice

A new dialysis patient is onboarded at a renal care center. The facility coordinator creates a rider profile with the patient's phone number, daughter's cell as emergency contact, home address, the dialysis center address as a saved destination, wheelchair accommodation flag, and a note about portable oxygen needs. Every future ride for this patient — whether one-time or recurring — auto-fills all fields from the profile, requiring only a date and time selection. The coordinator sets up a 3x-weekly recurring ride and all 12+ monthly rides are generated automatically.

How RideVoy helps

RideVoy's rider profile feature stores all patient transportation details in a searchable directory. When creating a ride, staff select the rider and all fields auto-populate. Profiles support multiple saved addresses, accommodation preferences, and custom notes — ensuring consistent, error-free ride scheduling across the entire team.
